Wales Tales - October 2010

Happy Fall - Our next membership meeting will be on Thursday, October 28th at 8:00PM at the Greene Township Building.

 

Membership Meeting: The first general membership meeting of the season was held Thursday, September 23rd. There were 5 members and 6 board members present.

There was discussion on different ideas for a fundraiser – look for details as the plans come together. Once everything is decided, please support the effort so we can prepare for the expenses that will be coming our way once the riding season begins.

 

General Trail Maintenance: A lot of trail work has already taken place. If you are interested in lending a hand this year to ready the trails, please give Randy Nowakowski a call at 323-6747 and get on the schedule. If he is not there, please leave a message.

 

Club Equipment: We are still looking forward to taking delivery of a brand new UTV groomer. The manufacturer is awaiting the completion of the track vulcanization and the latest information leads us to expect delivery around the end of October 2010.

 

Memberships: It is that time again to start thinking about renewing your club membership. Your current membership expires at the end of November. Please do not wait until the last moment! Just fill out the attached application and return it with your check.

All snowmobilers should belong to a snowmobile club! Trails do not happen on their own. Membership dues make up approximately half of the club’s funding. More applications for your riding buddies are available on our website, www.walessnodrifters.com.

 

Club Support Program: Have you remembered to participate in "The Million Dollar Club Support Program"? If you have not had the chance yet, please look at the attached fundraiser. This is a real easy way for us to raise some needed cash for expenses. Last year we received $1,450.00 from your participation in the program. So far this year, at least 32 forms have been returned. This equates to $320.00 in funds for our club.

Thanks to all who have submitted forms.

Please remember that each returned form will allow your club to receive $10.00. There is a limit of one form per member, but if you have multiple members in your household please feel free to complete a copy for each member.

The program ends on 11/15/2010, so please return soon!

Sunshine Person: Please note that Mary Ann Matasowski has volunteered to be our sunshine person. If you know of any of our members that have fallen ill, please contact Mary Ann at (814) 825-2067.

 

Notice: We will continue to caution everyone to ride only on the trail, which the Game Commission approves for us to follow through the Game Lands. Snowmobile trails are open in the Game Lands from the 3rd Sunday in January until April 1st, only on marked trails for registered and insured snowmobiles.

Riding is not permitted in the Game Lands this season until January 16, 2011.
