Wales Tales - February 2010 |
More snow came just in time for our Poker Run and helped make it another great success. While we have not been breaking any snowfall records in our area, what we have received has stayed around. I wonder if anyone in Pittsburgh or Philadelphia are thinking about purchasing a sled with all the snow storms they have been having this year.
Our nominating committee, Fred Morris & John Matasowski, is accepting names for your consideration as the elections will be held at the February membership meeting on 2/25. We currently need three new board members and a new auditor. Your suggestions or recommendations should be given to Fred (899-6307) or John (825-2067).
Membership Meeting:
On Thursday night, January 28th the membership meeting was held at the Greene Township Building. There were 7 Board members and 17 members present; some of which came on their sleds.Kent Kessler continues to work with the Groomer manufacturer and the DCNR to keep up the progress to make our purchase of a groomer a reality. Kent also reported that we received our Round 4 mini grant for $1,190 and it has been deposited.
Board member Keith Zambrzycki expressed his desire to resign from the Board. Member Mark Sonney offered to complete Keith’s term and the Board accepted his offer.
Fundraisers
: The Greene Township food pantry has donated another beautiful handmade throw and pillow to our club to raffle off as a fundraiser to help with our expenses. We are selling tickets for $2 each or 3 for $5. Tickets are still available. The third and final collection for the Greene Township food pantry was taken at the January meeting. With the donations that were mailed in and given at the meeting, we added $50 to our total. The January additions brought our total to $224. The club, along with the Food Pantry, would like to thank you for your generosity.
Our lottery based fundraiser is moving along. Remember, fundraiser proceeds go directly to offset our 20% match against our groomer grant. 119 stubs and payment have been returned so far. Are you still holding some of the outstanding cards? Please do not sit on those cards! You only have until the end of February to sell/buy those cards to have them included in the winnings. To be included in the potential winnings of $30 to $100 per daily drawing, stubs and payment need to be received back no later than February 28th.
